Not much looks to change.  Sorry hon.

We're, well Kyle, is working hard with the kids.  All of them trying not to kill the other two.  Being a stay-at-home parent works for some people.  For others, not so much.  While Kyle and I love our kids, we also know that it is best of them and us if we do not spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with each other.  It's just for a season.

Since the start of the year I have been able to spend much more time in my Bible and in prayer.  Call it a New Year's Resolution if you want.  I'm reading though Song of Songs every Monday and breaking up Isaiah Tuesday through Sunday.  It's been amazing and I'm loving soaking it all in.  I'm getting to the point where now I've read through them a few times and now I'm looking at the history behind them.  I've looked in to some of the history but not much.  I had contemplated getting a book that would guide me through the history but for some reason I feel the need to actually do research through different sources.  No idea why but there you have it.

Kyle is taking 4 classes this semester which gives him a break from home on Monday nights, Wednesday nights, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  He continues to search for jobs that can cover us financially.  Unfortunately its not as easy as just taking the first job that he comes across.  Since the kids would need childcare while Kyle and I are both at work and we have a house payment we need to find a job that would cover those costs, otherwise, we are essentially paying for Kyle to work.  We know God has a plan and are simply asking for His peace in our hearts during this time of uncertainty.  Isaiah 2:22 "Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils..."  We put our trust in God.  Isaiah 14: 24 "The Lord Almighty has sworn, "Surly, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand.""

Please keep praying for us, all of us.  Elle is growing and as she grows she starting to say things, typical of a 4-year-old but still not appreciated by Kyle and I.  Gabe is still defiant as ever and spends most of his days in a form of time out.  Kyle is being pushed to the max trying to love and discipline Elle and Gabe.  Our house is still on the market and the outlook doesn't look good.  We have recently discovered that Elle and Gabe have completely different requirements at bed time which makes it difficult when sharing a room.

Thank you for you thoughts and prayers.  When we feel we have no strength left, God provides a renewed heart, soul, and mind.

Badge # 2-Planning Badge

Tuesday, January 4th Elle received a package in the mail.  Clue #2, "You are about a month away from your birthday adventure to Colorado!  Start planning.  make a list of all the things you'll need.  Enter (my favorite badge) "The Planning Badge."

Here is Elle's Colorado Packing List.  The kids had an adventure with crayons this week so they were taken away for a week.  That meant I had to get creative with designing Elle's list.  I think it worked out pretty well.
She got the clue in the mail, addressed to her.  Don't worry, we didn't pay for postage.  I had some stickers for scrap booking that were stamps so we stuck those on and Kyle slid it in with the mail when he picked it up that day.  Kyle said she couldn't stop talking about it for the rest of the day.  She loves her 'venture book.
(closer shot of the list)
I'm in love with it.  She'll get to check each item off as she packs it.  She wanted to start packing right away.   I told her we still had a month before we left. LOL!  Such an ambitious girl.

Elle's Adventure Book

Elle got her adventure book for Christmas.
Her first clue said, "In a couple months your birthday adventure will begin.  Open this package to start the adventure."
Clue 1 got her badge #1 (Travel the World Badge) and a plan ticket to Colorado from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas too!

Badge #1 and her journal entry, "Friday, December 24th 2010, I got my first badge the "Travel the World" Badge.  Grandma and Grandpa gave me a ticket to Colorado for my birthday adventure.
