Best Day EVER

Last weekend was SO beautiful.

The kids and I met Kyle, my brother, and my sister-in-law at Lake Calhoun, ate lunch and played.  Some of the pictures I shared in my So This Is March post.  It was an excellent day but the best part was when we were leaving.

Elle had a hard time leaving like kids usually do but it wasn't tantrum or fit level it was just general sadness.  When we got in the car her attitude was of a much different nature.  While I'd love to say that is just the effect our Swagger Wagon has on the kids its very unlikely.

From her seat directly behind me Elle began tell me all the wonderful things she loved about the day.  I always love hearing my kids express how much they enjoyed something so simple as playing at the park but it got better.

After sharing all her favorite things she said, "Mom this was the best day."  Silence for a moment then, "except if I could spend the whole day with God."

That's right Elle.  That is absolutely right.

Insane Cravings of a Pregnant Woman

When I was pregnant with Elle and Gabe my eating habits remained fairly normal.  Granted there were a lot of chocolate, peanut butter, banana shakes with Elle and far less food staying in my belly with Gabe.

Despite my attempts to eat healthy, sort of, I'm failing.

So far I've reduced my intake of coffee which is good but I traded my morning coffee in for...

Pepsi (preferably Coke) and Popsicles.

Where I would typically munch on something relatively healthy throughout the day now I'm eating...

Fritos and french fries with ketchup and mayo.

And if I'm not reducing my nausea with french fries doused in mayo, it's possible I've just consumed 1/3 of...

a jar of pickles wrapped in corn beef smothered with cream cheese.

Of course it would be unfair not to mention the plate of nachos I eat almost every night before bed and the fact that I can hardly make it 20 minutes with out eating again, unless I've consumed 1/3 a jar of pickles.  For two days I couldn't stomach anything but the buffalo chicken salad from Jake's, which makes sense since that's so bland and flavorless (sense the sarcasm).

There are times I only want chocolate.  It is rare for me to be without a pint of ice cream in the freezer at work and I've been teased for my consistency in eating cocoa pebbles for breakfast at work, after downing my 12 oz. Coke of course.

So to that theory of what you eat determining the gender of your child, what on earth am I having?!

Girl vs. Boy

Don't worry I don't have a bracket for this but Kyle and I did decide that with bebe trois we would wait until birth to find out the gender.

Before becoming pregnant with my first I always thought of course I would wait to find out the gender; that's part of the fun isn't it?  Then I realized that the fun is knowing and getting to shop for them.  I could hardly wait the 20 weeks to find out the gender with Elle.

With Gabe I was so scared to have a boy I just wanted to know we were having a girl.  Alas, I cried in the ultrasound room.  I love my boy so dearly, though I am determined not to have him be that annoying boy on the playground that spews testosterone on all.

Since we are so happy with our girl and so happy with our boy, Kyle and I figure we can wait on this one.  This is driving some of our friends crazy (tee hee) but we have found ways around that.

I have been asked what I think it is and Kyle and I have our own odd theories.  Ours don't involve the shape of my belly or the types of foods that I'm eating.  Instead, our theory is based on the name we have been given.

As soon as we found out we were pregnant the first time we started looking at name.  I've always loved the name Elle and in our oh-so-handy baby name book we found that Elle comes from Ellianna which means "my God has answered me."  We pretty much new then and there our first child would be a girl and her name would be Elle.  Our sweet little Elle Belle (beautiful girl).

As much as I may have protested having a boy I guess I should have known since we only had a boy name.  Gabriel Isaac. Gabriel meaning, "strong man of God," and Isaac meaning, "he who laughs."  Gabe is certainly strong...willed, and man can that kid make us laugh and he has such an excellent belly laugh as well.

Kyle and I have been given a boy name which according to The Stennes Theory (yes, its capitalized now) would mean we're having a boy.  Of course this could all be sillyness as well.

In any case we'd like to have a girl name to compliment our boy name, you know, just in case but we have had no success in finding a girl name we're good with.  So can you help us out?

What would you suggest for a girl name?  We like some what original names but not too out there.

Don't worry I haven't forgotten that I haven't said the boy name yet.  You'll have to give a suggestion for a girl to get the boy name.   Aren't I trouble?!?

So we have:

Ellianna Evangeline
Gabriel Isaac

So This is March

This was last weekend...

Jealous much?

Well Hello There

It’s hard to believe it has been 7 months since I posted.  Sincere apologies but life has been busy you know.  School for both Kyle and I, working full-time, Elle and Gabe’s dance schedule and other odds and ends that seem to occupy our time.  I’m not sure where the time has gone but in any case it is gone.

Gabe’s 3rd birthday came and went with extremely chilly weather for a corn maze but he seemed to enjoy himself all the same.

Thanksgiving came, was delicious and went with all it's Black Friday insanity.  Love it!

Then came Christmas, Black Friday's pay-off.  No not really but it's starting to feel like Christmas more and more each year.

January brought the return of homework, almost constant illness of some form, and a continual longing to be back with friends.

In February we celebrated 2 birthdays and Elle turned 5! Deep breath.  Elle's favorite birthday present was her tea sets; mine was our positive pregnancy test for baby #3.

And now we're in March and how glorious it has been in Minnesota this March.

Kyle and I discussed my work, school, home schedule and decided it would be best for me to take some time off school.  I'm still in the period of time I would have had off anyway but I love being able to focus my time on my family.  Notice I don't say my energy.  I don't have much of that these day.  Most often after I put the kids to bed I'm fast behind them.  Going to bed at 8:30 sounds so sad but I can barely keep my eyes open much less my body upright.  I think it will be good to put aside the school work for awhile.

We're looking forward to this summer.  Kyle has an intense 6 weeks to get through first.  Classes Monday - Thursday starting the 2nd week of May.  Elle and Gabe have their 2nd dance recital this June.  Elle is so excite.  I really do think she is the human version of  Angelina Ballerina.  If I had cheddar cheese pies, I'm sure she'd put in foot in them trying to arabesque.

We really wanted to go back to London again this year, we love our old and new friends, but invested in a minivan instead, due to #3.  We love our minivan but really do miss our friends.  We will be able to take a week in August to head up north with some other friends for a stay at a cabin.  We are looking forward to this vacation as well.  Each year family vacations get a little easier as the kids get older.  Now we're adding another one.  What are we thinking? :)

Elle will start kindergarten in September at Aspen Academy in Prior Lake.  She's very excited, and so am I.

So that's us all up to date.  What's new with you?
